Core subjects for the entire school

Each week, you have approximately 6 hours of subjects on your timetable together with the rest of the students.

  • On Tuesday before lunch (1 hour)
  • On Tuesday after lunch (2 hours)
  • On Wednesday after lunch (3-4 hours)

Every year, we set aside two weeks in November to carry out a joint project with the entire school. These are two incredibly enjoyable weeks where the opportunity to try something new and push boundaries is definitely present.

Here, you can choose the type of task you want to assist with!

During the MIX weeks, you choose from several tasks. You might be part of the drama team, choir, set design, costumes, service, practical work, multi-camera production, and more.

The main thing is that together, we create a performance - which we call 'The Enchanted Forest'. This is a show where we invite 1st graders from primary school and give them a magical performance.

The experience of creating this together gives a real boost.

What is a folk high school without singing and music? We take the time to enjoy old and new hits with an hour of sing-along every other week!

The atmosphere usually becomes very good!

Typical themes for the singing sessions:

  • Football chants
  • Songs from movies
  • Beatles
  • Norwegian songs
  • Christian songs
  • Ballads
  • Pop music

You will learn basic knowledge about the Christian faith. Additionally, we will focus on discussing challenging etihcal topics.

The group of students who come to us have various approaches to faith. Our desire is for everyone to feel a great freedom to express their own beliefs and thoughts. Respect for each other's viewpoints is very important.

We greatly appreciate the diversity that the students represent.

Throughout the year, there will be many meaningful conversations about faith and doubt.

Here we discuss school life, but we also broaden our perspective to stay updated on what's happening in the world outside.

We talk about current events and aim to contextualize them to make them relevant for us.

We set aside time to keep our surroundings tidy and clean. You will have time to tidy up your room, and we allocate time to clean and maintain cleanliness around the school premises.

Learn about how you can live a more sustainable life. What can you as a student and we as a school do to save the environment?
