Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze how users use the website. The information generated by such a cookie about your use of the website, including your IP address, is sent to Google and stored on servers in the USA.

We use anonymizeIP, a feature that ensures a single user cannot be identified.

Google uses this information to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports on website activity for the website owner, and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of our websites. We get information about which pages are most visited, where users come from, at what times the pages are most visited, etc.

How to manage cookies

Facebook and Instagram

To display more relevant ads and make more efficient use of advertising money on Facebook and Instagram, we use measurement from Meta (formerly Facebook) which sets cookies on our website.

 

Storage of personal data about applicants and students

Data Controller

The principal is on behalf of Folkehøgskolen Sørlandet responsible for the company’s processing of personal data.

Personal data stored

We store the following personal data about our students: Name, address, phone number, email address, social security number, account number, citizenship, gender, course selection, information about absences, and special health information.

Collection of personal data

We store the personal data you have provided in the application form on folkehogskole.no in connection with your application to the school, and any other information you provide us afterward.

Purpose of processing

We process the data to fulfill our obligations and provide the educational offer as agreed with you.

We also use the data to provide you with information in connection with student reunions and other events organized by the school, if you have consented to this. You can opt out of this at any time.

Disclosure of information to third parties

We will not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose personal data to others unless we are legally obliged to do so.

Deletion of personal data

Information we have received in connection with your application is stored in our active student register for 10 years. Information about names and years of the school year is only deleted upon request, and only if it does not conflict with the Accounting Act and other regulations.

Rights of the data subject

If you wish, you can request that we delete information about you. This does not apply to information we are required to store under the Accounting Act.

Information security

We secure your personal data through both physical and virtual access and access control, as well as by encrypting sensitive parts of the submitted information.
