Experience Norway’s language, culture and stunning nature. Enjoy spectacular nature scenes as well as music, food, art and fun. Learn Norwegian both in class and during your free time with friends.

Are you ready to take cooking to a whole new level?

In our culinary program, we combine the best of both worlds: street food from exciting food cultures and Norwegian ingredients, often straight from nature. Here, you'll learn to make delicious food from scratch, whether it's something simple for everyday or spectacular feast meals.

Food Lab: Experiment with flavors and techniques. Together, we test dishes that truly excite the taste buds.

Food is not just something we make – it's something we share. With us, meals are as much about community as they are about taste. We gather around the table to enjoy the food we've made, creating memories through good conversations and experiences.

Together, we build and operate our own food truck, bringing food to the people. You'll gain practical experience in making, selling, and presenting food in true street food style.

In collaboration with local food producers and food enthusiasts, we work to gain a deeper understanding of where food comes from. We visit local farms and harvest nature's treasures – all to give you a close connection to the ingredients you use.

We are more than just food!

We know that to thrive and develop, we need variety, so we take time to nurture other sides of ourselves. The class decides together what we want to do outside the kitchen – maybe a workout, a museum visit, or a concert?

Are you ready for a school day filled with flavors, creativity, and genuine food joy?

Welcome to us!

Whether you find yourself somewhere on the scale from "how to boil water?" to "sharpening the knife before cutting a tomato," this program is for you.

What you will learn:

Our goal is for you to be able to open the fridge on a weekday and make something delicious from what you find there, and to confidently dive into making a feast for friends. So if that sounds like something you want to strive for, you'll fit right in with us.

Tokyo

Tokyo in Japan is one of the coolest and most versatile cities in the world. Here, it's not just about sushi, but so much more – from street food to restaurants, here we come!

With a unique blend of tradition and futurism, this city is not just for foodies, but for those who want to experience and sense everything: art, technology, fashion, beautiful temples, bustling markets, and modern architecture.

The class decides much of the program themselves: maybe we'll find a cooking class, visit a cat café, enjoy shadow boxing in a park, check out the fashion scene, or go to karaoke?

We travel at the same time as the Digital Nomad program.

Europe on a Budget

This trip is entirely up to us. Tempted by croissants in Paris or food trucks in Stockholm? We can dream and then plan – together!

Short Trips in Southern Norway

With food in mind, we try to find the treasures – a local, award-winning dairy, an organic garden, an ice cream factory, or a farmer with dreams. In season, we can harvest ourselves – apples and plums, mushrooms or seaweed. Of course, we also go out and eat food made by others, maybe we'll get a tip or two?

Although food is important, we want more. Why not bring a packed lunch and head to the rocky shore, the mountain top, the Kunstsilo, the gym, or a concert? Together, we'll figure out where and what we want to do.

Group Trip to Denmark

At the beginning of the school year, the entire school travels to Rønbjerg Feriecenter in Denmark. On this trip, we get to know each other well and lay the foundation for a good and safe community that continues when we return to Sørlandet. A very nice start to the year!

International Trip Across Courses

Later, at the beginning of spring, the entire school goes on a trip at the same time, but to different destinations. You choose one of four options and travel with students from other courses. These trips are rich in content in their own way and offer impressions, human encounters, and experiences you will greatly enjoy! One of the trips is included in the school fee, so it doesn’t cost extra to join. The other trips cost extra.

Everyone chooses one of three options for the international trip across courses. These are arranged simultaneously. You make your choice after you have started at the school.

The trips will be arranged around March 2026.

More information about all the trips will be provided before you choose which trip you want to go on. You can read more about all the trips here.

With us, you become part of a large, inclusive environment where everyone gets to know each other – of course, across different courses. That’s why we prioritize being together.
